Matthew Shepard Act:Matthew Shepard began December 1, 1976 when he was born to Judy and Dennis Shepard in Casper, Wyoming. He attended public school in Casper until his junior year of high school, when he moved with his family in Saudi Arabia. Matt had to finish high school at the American School in Switzerland because there was no U.S. high schools Saudi Arabia at the time. In both schools, was elected by his peers for advice from their peers. It was easy to say, made friends easily and actively fought for the acceptance of all people. Matt had a passion for equality. His experience abroad fueled his love of travel and gave him the opportunity to make new friends around the world.
